INTEGRASI PASAR CABAI MERAH KERITING DI KABUPATEN KULON PROGO
Abstract
Kulon Progo is one of the districts that producemost of red curly chili in
Yogyakarta. In 2015, more than half of red curly chili production in Yogyakarta
was produced in Kulon Progo, which is 168,280 quintals or 71,95% from total
production. The purpose of this research is to know how the development of
production of red curly chili in Kulon Progo, price pattern of red curly chili at the
producer and consumer level and market integration of red curly chili between
producer and consumer markets. This research uses descriptive analysis method
with Index of Market Connection (IMC) approach. Using secondary data from
Kulon Progo District Government Agriculture Office. The result showed,
production of red curly chili tends to fluctuatevevery month, second result price
pattern of red curly chili between market of producers and consumers shows the
same pattern movement, if the price in the consumer market rises then in the
produce’s market also. Third result, value of IMC less than 1 (0,96), that’s means
degree of market integration of red curly chili between market producers and
consumer markets in the short term is quite strong. That’s indicated, consumer
market was continuing the information related to the price changes of red curly
chili to the producer market quickly.
