Apologizing to have her own signature. Everyone must have ever or often do a mistake in her life. For that, the person must be able to express an apology in a good way and right way to people who have been wronged to get his apology. In this study would analyze the kind of phrase that was to apologize from the Japanese Education Department Program Student of Yogyakarta Muhammadiyah University was written in Japanese or Indonesian. In this study, data is analocally analysis with a percentage description analysis. Data acquired from the quette distributed to 31 people of the respondents then equipped with data from the interviews. According to the data analysis, then it can be known that in Japanese, students use the teineigo phrase to apologize to the professor and students are also use teineigo phrase to apologize to their friends. As in Indonesian, students are more using formal phrase to apologize to the professor and the students are use non - formal phrase to apologize to their friends.
