      Abstract
      Development of information technology and modernization of telecommunication tools have increased a dependence of world society on wireless communication devices. Various innovations contributed to human activities including the cultivation of smartphones. Globalization and the end of cold war gave emergence to new actor in international relations studies, multinational corporations. This business unit is not only engaged in a particular nation-state region, MNCs’ activities have crossed state borders in multi aspects. A Chinese technology company, OPPO carried out its products on international market. At the end of 2014, the company decided to invest in Indonesia after a year of entering its smartphone market competition. This study aims to find causes that influence the action taken by the corporation. Firm-specific-advantages theory, internalization theory and institutional approach on foreign direct investments used to explain that phenomenon.
