      Abstract
      This study is about the role of the teachers of akidah akhlak in improving the quality of students’ akhlak in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Gandekan. This study aims to investigate the methods employed by the teachers of Akidah Akhlak to improve the quality of their students’ akhlak it also seeks to investigate the teachers’ methods of teaching as well as the factors that support or hinder their effort in improving the quality of students’ akhlak. The approach of this study is descriptive-qualitative. The subject of this study includes; the headmaster of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, akidah aklak teachers, and six students from the fifth and the sixth grade. Data are collected mainly through interview, while observation and documentation are the secondary methods. The collected data then analysed using descriptive method. The result of this study reveals that; (1) the akidah akhlak teachers play roles to guide, motivate, direct, and act as role models; (2) Akidah akhlak is taught two hours every week by two teachers; (3) the supporting factors are the school’s religious milieu, good infrastructure, professional teachers, and good communication between the teachers and students’ parents. Whereas the hindrance including bad influence of television programs, lack of self-realization among the students, and lack of religious education in their family.
