Indonesia have high prevalence in dental and oral health problem, it included children with special needs. Hearing loss is special need condition which characterized in hearing impairment. The role of parents in forming behavior and habit to maintain the oral hygiene of their children is important. The aim of this study was to determine the correlation between parenting parents with oral hygiene index in hearing loss children. Subjects were student with hearing impairment in SLB Negeri 1 Bantul, that were selected using total sampling with regard to inclusion and exclusion criteria (n=45). Each subjects performed oral hygiene examination to obtain OHI-S score. The parents were asked to fill out parenting style questionnaire to find out the type of parenting. Data were analysed using Eta correlation test. The analysis result show that the p value is 0,798 (p>0,05). The conclusion of this study, there is no significant correlation between parenting style and oral hygiene index. Parenting style is not the only one factor that can affect oral hygiene index.
