HUBUNGAN MASA STUDI DENGAN KEMAMPUAN KOMUNIKASI TERAPEUTIK MAHASISWA PROFESI DI RSGM UMY
Abstract
Background: Therapeutic communication between clinical students and patient is
very important to provide a qualified health services.Petients often complain and
feek dissatified towards health service provided by clinical students due to poor
therapeutic coomunicaton. Moreover, same clinical students tend neglest the
importance of communication with patients.
Research Objective: To know the correlation of study period with therapeutic
communication skill of Clinical students at RSGM UMY.
Research Method: The research type used in this research was analytic
observational with cross sectional research design. The population of this research
were 195 professional college student‟s patients by using the calculation of
proportionate stratified random sampling and 131 samples according to inclusion
criteria were obtained.
Research Result: In this research, the number of patients is 131 patients who are
mostly women by 73 patients (55,7%). The predominant age range of the patients
is 17-25 years old by 96 patients (73,3%). High school as the latest education
level of the patients is commonly observed in 88 patients (67,1%). This research
result indicated that p value = 0.195, which meant p > 0.05 based on Pearson test.
Conclusion: There was no significant correlation between study period and
therapeutic communication skill of professional college students at RSGM UMY.
