PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN VIDEO ANIMASI PENCABUTAN GIGI METODE TELL-SHOW-DO TERHADAP TINGKAT KECEMASAN ANAK USIA PRASEKOLAH DI RUMAH SAKIT GIGI DAN MULUT UNIVERSITAS MUHAMMADIYAH YOGYAKARTA
Abstract
the first time they visit a dentist. It leads to the risk of growth disturbances and impacts on the succesfull of dental care. Cartoon animation is one of the interesting and preferred methods of children, which is believed to reduce dental anxiety for the children. It can be used as a learning tool for children through a tell-show-do approach.
Objective: To determine whether there is an influence of the use of animated tooth extraction animated video using the tell-show-do method to the anxiety level of preschool children at RSGM UMY.
Research method: This study was a Quasy Experimental research with non equivalent posttest only control group design implemented on 16 preschool children in RSGM UMY. The sampling technique used total sampling. The children anxiety measurement used MCDAS. The statistical analysis used Mann Whitney signed rank test.
Result of research: Mann Whitney test showed p-value 0,011 (<0,05) that there was an effect of using animation video tooth extraction of tell-show-do method of children's anxiety.
Conclusion: It can be concluded there is influence of the use of dental tell-show-do tooth animation video from the preschoolers anxiety at RSGM UMY.
