PENGARUH TERAPI SPIRITUAL EMOTINAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE (SEFT) TERHADAP PENURUNAN TINGKAT KECANDUAN ONLINE GAMES PADA MAHASISWA PROGRAM PENDIDIKAN SARJANA KEDOKTERAN
Abstract
Background: Game addiction is a situation when a player will be very difficult to
escape from the game. This online game addiction is better known as Internet
Gaming Disorder. Prevalence in adolescents in an Asian study using the five
criteria categories was 8.4% for males and 4.5% for females. This behaviour has
many negative impacts for students. One of the therapies is CBT. In addition to
CBT, other therapy that can be used is EFT. EFT is a type of therapy that utilizes
the body's meridian energy, almost the same as acupuncture, but using fingers
instead of needles. In Indonesia, EFT is slightly modified into Spiritual Emotional
Freedom Technique (SEFT).
Objective: This study aims to determine whether SEFT therapy can be used as a
healing therapy for games addiction.
Method: The type of research used is quantitative, with quasi experiment method,
using two groups of pretest-post test design.
Result: Normality test using saphiro wilk, the signification number p=0.005
(normal) for pretest and p=0.003 (abnormal) for post test. Correlation test using
Wilcoxon test obtained was p=0.252 for intervention group and p=0,009 for
control group.
Conclusion: Students suffering online games addiction who got SEFT therapy
experiencing a decline of addiction level compared with those who did not.
