PENGARUH KOMPETENSI PROFESIONAL DAN SOSIAL GURU TERHADAP MOTIVASI BELAJAR SISWA KELAS VIII SMP MUHAMMADIYAH 1 GAMPING
Abstract
This study aims to: 1) describe the professional competence of teachers of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gamping, 2) describe the social competence of teachers of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gamping, 3) describe the learning motivation of the eighth grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gamping, 4) assess the effect of professional competence on the learning motivation of the eight grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gamping, 5) assess the effect of teachers' social competence on the learning motivation of the eighth grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gamping, and 6) proved the effect of professional competence and social competence of teachers on learning motivation of eighth grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gamping.
This research is qualitative research with multiple linear regression method. The population of this study included all the eighth-grade students, totaling 159 students. Whereas the sample of this study is 115 of them. While the sampling technique uses simple random sampling technique. Data are collected using documentation and questionnaire methods.
The results of this study indicate that: 1) The professional competence of the teachers at SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gamping is considered to be in the medium category (66.85%, 2) while the social competence of the teachers of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gamping is considered to be in the high category (65.21%, 3). Meanwhile, the learning motivation of the eighth-grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gamping is considered to be high category (78.80%, 4). The teacher professional competence has a significant effect on the learning motivation of eighth grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gamping 5) The teacher social competence has a significant effect on the learning motivation of eighth grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gamping and 6) The teachers’ professional competence and social competence has a significant effect on the learning motivation of eighth grade students of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Gamping. This conclusion is based on the fact that the value of R square is 0.102 which means that the influence of teachers’ professional competence and teachers’ social competence on the students’ learning motivation is 10.2%.
