IDENTIFIKASI PERAN KOMUNITAS PERSADIA RS PKU MUHAMMADIYAH KOTA YOGYAKARTA TERHADAP KUALITAS HIDUP PASIEN DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2
Abstract
Diabetes is a chronic illness. The patients will often cast down in going through therapy program. Increasing an individual‟s life quality needs supports from family, relatives, close friends, and social environment. In a social environment, support can be found from a community. This research took place among the community of PERSADIA RS PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. This research aims to find out the role of a community on life quality of patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 using World Health Organization Quality of Life (WHOQOL)-BREF.
This research is a research type with cross sectional study design. The cross sectional design was conducted with observation and finding data. The sample collection used was purposive sampling based on the exclusion and inclusion criteria. The data collection was conducted by distributing (WHOQOL)-BREF questionnaire and community support questionnaire adopted from Hensarling Diabetes Family Support Scale (HDSS) with a change on family as the object into community as the object.
The data found with the number of samples that is 30 respondents are as follows: good community role showing good life quality is as many as 10 people with the percentage of 63.3%. Good support showing less life quality is as many as 1 person with the percentage of 3.3%. The total number got from the variable of good support is 20 people. The correlation of less support on good life quality is shown by 6 people with the percentage of 20% and less support showing less life quality is as many as 13.3%. The total result of less support is shown by 10 people with the percentage of 33.3%. The research result shows that community role toward the life quality of the community members of PERSADIA RS PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta having p=0.031 using fisher exact test in which it can be concluded that there is a meaningful correlation between community role toward the life quality of the community members of PERSADIA RS PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. The distribution of respondents‟ age type having less life quality with the highest number is in the age range of 61-65 years old that is 50% dominated with female. It can be concluded that there is a meaningful correlation between community roles toward the life quality of PERSADIA members.
