PERBANDINGAN TINGKAT DEPRESI ANTARA MAHASISWA YANG TINGGAL DENGAN ORANG TUA DAN TINGGAL SENDIRI PADA MAHASISWA PROGRAM STUDI ILMU KEPERAWATAN
Abstract
Depression is a problem sanity very important this when can be lowered productivity and bad for themselves, the community and the environment. According to World Health Organization (WHO), depression is very serious problem because it is the world ke-4 disease. The prevalence of depression that happened to students higher than the population in general. Students the most experience symptoms of depression since the beginning of college with various causes, as problems academic, solitude, economic problems and difficult building relationships. The psikososial causes of depression, of joined with parents, joined with friends, displacement residence, the education system, and opposition value system and the lack of attention and support family. This research aimed to compare the rate of depression among students living with parents and living alone in Nursing Science Program.
The design of this study is comparative deskriptive with the approach of cross-sectional. The sample used as many as 54 student, chosen through purposive of sampling. Depression instruments used was a beck depression inventory (BDI)-II. Data analysed significance with statistical tests Mann whitney.
Mann-whiteney test results showed value p = 0,000 (p<0.05), with the results the student who lives alone more suffer from depression (81,4%) , the mild depression (48,1%) and depression and (33,3%) than student who live with parents (25,9 %), the mild depression (22,2%) and depression and (3,7%).
The conclusion of research is there is a different levels of depression between students who lives with parents and living alone in Nursing Science Program.
