Abstract
The pump is a tool used to move liquids (fluids) from one place to another, through pipes or channels by adding energy to the fluid that is moved and continues. The pump operates with the principle of making different suction parts and press parts. The pressure difference is generated from a mechanism such as the rotation of the impeller wheel which makes the suction side almost vacuum. This pressure difference sucks the liquid so that it can move from a reservoir to another place.
This research process is carried out by analyzing the comparison between standard impellers and impellers that have been engineered with a standard 1kg impeller weight with iron materials that have 3 blades. While the engineered impeller has a weight of 4 ounces with aluminum material that has 6 blades.
From the results of analyzing the comparison of standard impellers with engineered impellers, standard impellers get 2.4 bar pressure and 0.130 liters of water volume in 60 seconds with a 4500rpm engine speed and 2.16 cm3 / second of water discharge. While the engineered impeller gets 3 bar pressure and 0.145 liters of water volume in 60 seconds with a 4500rpm engine speed and produces 2.41 cm3 / second water discharge
