STRATEGI PROMOSI DINAS PERPUSTAKAAN DAN KEARSIPAN KABUPATEN SLEMAN YOGYAKARTA DALAM MENARIK MINAT PENGUNJUNG TAHUN 2016-2017
Abstract
Yogyakarta has the highest reading index in Indonesia with its reading rate in 2013 is 0.09. Libraries which have the highest reading interest in Yogyakarta are libraries in Sleman Regency. The visit number in 2016 was only 612,137.00 visitors but it increased to 626.647,00 visitors in 2017. The study is aimed to describe the promotion strategy done by Department of Library and Archival of Sleman Regency to attract visitors’ interest. Hence, this is a quantitative study. The result of the study shows that the library strategy used to attract visitors’ interest at planning stage is by forming promotion teams namely system development and library service section, assistance in building library competence section, development and archival service section. Then, there are promotion activities conducted at the implementation stage namely assistance in buildingschool libraries competence,library visiting service,library tour service,mobile library, internet service, and circulation service. As for media promotions are done through tabloids, Litrasia bulletin, leaflets, banners, posters, local TVstationsadvertising like TVRI Jogja, Jogja TV, Adi TV and RB TV. And, for the evaluation stage, a coordination meeting is conducted to know the achievement of the promotion that has been done.
