      Abstract
      Background: Hypertension is one cause of stroke. One effort in stroke prevention is to increase the level of knowledge through health education . Health education is an independent nursing interventions to assist clients in addressing their health problems through learning activities that may cause a positive attitude to the public. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of health education to knowledge about stroke prevention. Methose: This research is quantitative with quasy-experiment method. This research design is pre-test-post-test with control group design. The total sample were 64, 32 for the control group and 32 for the intervention group. The validity test in this study using pearson product moment and reliability test using the KR-20. Data were tested by wilcoxon sign rank test and mann-whitney u test. Result: The result of this study indicate that there are significant provision of health education on knowledge in the intervention group with significant value p=0,000 (p<0,05). Conclusion: There are the impact of health education to knowledge about stroke prevention on patients with hypertension in region primary health care I Gamping Sleman.
