PERBEDAAN HASIL PEMERIKSAAN REFRAKSI DENGAN AUTOREFRAKTOMETER TERHADAP KOREKSI TERBAIK PADA MAHASISWA PENDIDIKAN DOKTER FKIK UMY ANGKATAN 2015
Abstract
Background: In Indonesia, visual impairment occurs more frequentlyt in people of
productive ages. Medical students are one group of people at risk of visual
impairment. The autorefractometer is currently considered as a supportive
instrument to estabilish the diagnosis of refractive disorders (myopia,
hypermetropia, astigmatism) because of its superiority in time efficiency.
Aim: This study was aimed to identify whether there is a diffrence between the
examination of refractive abnormalities using autorefractometer comapared with
the gold standard (trial lens).
Methods: Cross-Sectional Study was conductied on 62 medical students of UMY
to collect the data of refractive abnormalities using autorefractometer and trial
lens. The normality test of the data was performed by using the Kolmogorov
Smirnov Test. Data analysis was carried out by using the Mann-Whitney Test.
Results: Based on the comparative results of Spherical Equivalent (SE), there was
no significant difference between the examination of refractive with
autorefractometer and with trial lens on 62 subjects.Tthe data analysis test using
the Mann-Whitney Test showed p=0,06 for the right eye and p=0,11 for the left
eye.
Conclusion: There was no significant difference between the examination with
autorefractometer and with trial lens on both eyes. A more negative result is
obtained from refraction check using the autorefractometer.
