This study entitled "Application of the Method of Problem Solving in Guidance and Counseling to Improve the Personality of Students of Grade IX at Tasikmalaya Middle School 1 Singapore in 2018- 2019" Problems in schools and families often underlie the problems of the teenagers themselves. There are many of them who don't get enough love and love from their parents that they should get in their families so that they feel uncomfortable so they can't share their stories with their parents about their activities at school. It could even be that the teenager is having problems with friends at school, such as experiencing bullying that makes this teenager experience depression. The role of BK counselor helps to implement problem solving methods that can improve the personality of counselees in particular at 1st Singaparna Junior High School. This study aims to (1) Describe the application of problem solving methods conducted by guidance and counseling at Tasikmalaya 1 Public Elementary School 1 of the academic year 201-2019. (2) Explain about the influence of problem solving methods in increasing the personality of self in class IX students of SMP 1 Singaparna Tasikmalaya academic year 201-2019. (3) Explain the causal factors of problem solving methods capable of improving personality in class IX students of SMP 1 Singaparna Tasikmalaya academic year 2018-2019. This study uses a qualitative method. The location of this research was at Tasikmalaya 1st middle school in Singaparna. This research was conducted with in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, while data analysis will be carried out by analysis when in the field. The results of the study that the application of problem solving methods is harmonized with the state of the counseled problem and several factors that can influence the personality of the counselled.
