PERAN BINA RUHANI ISLAM DALAM MENINGKATAN SPIRITUAL PASIEN PENYAKIT KRONIS DI RS PKU MUHAMMADIYAH YOGYAKARTA
Abstract
People fall sick for various reasons. In addition to the medical aspects, several factors cause a person to fall sick. A factor that causes people to fall sick is the psychological problem, namely lack of acceptance, that lead to anxiety, stress and other psychological problems. Another factor is spiritual problem. Spirituality is the highest human need. PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Yogyakarta has a 24-hour Spiritual Caregiving Service and certified by Syari'ah Hospital Standard. The Islamic Spiritual Care Unit provides Spiritual Services or Spiritual Guidance to patients using the Holistic Health Care (HHC) Service system. The HHC service seeks to heal patients by paying attention to their psychospiritual aspects in addition to the medical aspects.
This study aims to describe the role of Islamic Spiritual Caregivers in Improving Spiritual Health of patients in PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Yogyakarta and explain the spiritual caregiving process using HHC Services there. The type of research is qualitative research using a descriptive analysis approach. Data collection techniques in this study are in-depth interviews and documentation.
The results of this study are 1) The role of Islamic Spiritual Caregivers is to improve the patient's spiritual health. There are positive changes in patients who experience problems in the spiritual aspect after visited by Islamic Spiritual Caregivers regularly so they are able to pray, worship and, read verses, and feel peace then, 2) The implementation process of spiritual guidance that is carried out by spiritual caregivers is based on Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), such as greeting, introduction, asking about the patient's condition, giving spiritual motivation, and giving the book of Prayers for the Sick (Tuntunan Do’a Untuk Orang Sakit - TRUOS) before saying goodbye.
