EFEKTIVITAS PELATIHAN MODUL MANAJEMEN STRES TERHADAP TINGKAT DEPRESI PADA REMAJA AWAL
Abstract
Background: Depression is a mood disorder characterized by sadness that lasts for a long time
and disturbs the function of life. Adolescence comes from the Latin word adolecer, which means
growing up at the age of 12 to 15, which has not reached a stable level, the beginning of the
search for identity and situations in which it is necessary to be able to adapt. This study aims to
determine the effectiveness of stress management module training to reduce the level of
depression in early adolescents.
Research method: Using the design of a group before the test after the test with the type of
quasi-experimental control group design performed on 36 students in SMP N 4 Yogyakarta. And
the CERDAS (Cendekiawan muda bersama wujudkan Indonesia sehat) management stress
module used as a reference for research. Determination of the depression level with the
Children's Depression Inventory (CDI).
Research Results: Depressed-class students were 7 people (19.44%) while the non-depressive
category was 29 students (80.56%) out of 36 students. After the bivariate test in the control
group, p = 0.059 (p> 0.05), which did not differ before and after exercise. In the intervention
group, the results were p = 0.001 (p <0.05), which gave differences before and after exercise.
Conclusion: Training in stress management modules proved effective in reducing depression in
early adolescents.
Suggestion: For other researchers, it would be better if, in addition to the stress management
module, further studies were done to deal with depression with more samples and longer time.
