HUBUNGAN KUALITAS TIDUR TERHADAP KADAR GULA DARAH PUASA PEKERJA SHIFT DI UNIVERSITAS MUHAMMADIYAH YOGYAKARTA
Abstract
Background: Shift work is at risk of experiencing sleep disorders. Sleep quality disorders that can occur are insomnia and rhythm disturbance circadian. In addition, the sleep quality can affect the imbalance of blood glucose levels. Blood glucose level are influenced by several factors, namely stress, eating patterns, and good sleep quality help the formation of new cells, time to the body organs to rest and maintain the balance of the body metabolism. Poor sleep can increase a person change to eat, so losing sleep can increase appetite and food intake which can lead to increased blood glucose level. Purpose: Purpose this study almed to determine the relationship between sleep quality to fasting blood glucose level shift workers in muhammadiyah university of Yogyakarta. Method: This study is a quantitative correlation study and use non-experiment techniques. The design in this study used a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique in this study used a total amounting to 23 respondents in accordance with the inclusion criteria who received a night shift for one week. Instrument in this study used questionnaire Pitsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and glucometer. Analysis of data using Pearson test with ratio scale. Result: The results of statistical test show the correlation coefficient is 0,566 with a significant value of 0,05 which indicates that the value 0,05. Conclusion: There is a relationship between sleep quality and fasting blood glucose level shift workers in Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta.
