      Abstract
This study purpose to provide an overview of soft diplomacy conducted by Indonesia through the 2018 Asian Games. Soft diplomacy is currently considered more effective than hard diplomacy because it does not take many victims and prioritizes a cultural approach. Indonesia was chosen to be the host of the Asian Games which is an international event and is a pride for Indonesia for hosting for the second time. By hosting the Asian Games it is certainly a prestige or honor for the country of Indonesia because it can promote the beauty of tourism and the diversity of cultures it has, and enhance the image of Indonesian sports in the international arena. Because of hard work and good cooperation between all parties involved in the 2018 Asian Games, they have achieved success and received a lot of appreciation from the international community. Indonesia is considered not only successful in being a host but also a success for the achievements of its athletes and it certainly becomes our common pride. Indonesia's opportunity to host the Olympics in 2032 is even greater after achieving success in hosting the 2018 Asian Games.
