HUBUNGAN OBAT DEPRESI DAN CEMAS DENGAN DRY EYE DISEASE
Abstract
Background: Dry eye Disease (DED) is one of the most common conditions
encountered in ophthalmology. DED is a multifactorial disease in the tear eyes
and eye surface which results in instability of tear film, ocular discomfort and
visual disturbances. DED symptoms include constant eye irritation, foreign body
sensation and blurred vision. DED causes a negative impact on the patient's daily
life and social function, making DED an important public health problem. One of
the DED factors is the use of antidepressant drugs and anti-anxiety drugs that are
used by depressed and anxious patients.
Objective: The aim of this study was to identify Dry Eye Disease in depressed
and anxious patients who used the antidepressant drugs and anti-anxiety drugs in
RSJ Prof. dr. Soeroyo Magelang.
Methods: This study used cross sectional method. The population in this study
were patients in RSJ Prof. dr. Soeroyo Magelang who diagnosed as depressed
and anxious patients with consumption antidepressant drugs and anti-anxiety
drugs, included inclusion and exclusion criterias. 60 patients were collected, with
each 30 patients is diagnosed a depressed and anxious. All patients were tested by
Schirmer test to identify the Dry Eye Disease and classification of Dry eye
Disease.
Result: The results showed patients who treated by antidepressants and antianxiety
has classification into Dry Eye disease with the higher used in
Amitriptiline as antidepressant (p=0.034), Alprazolam, and Fluoxetine as antianxiety
(p=0.040), which means the correlation between depression and anxiety
can be found with Dry eye Disease.
Conclusion: The Corellation between antidepressants and anti-anxiety can be
found in Dry Eye Disease.
