GAMBARAN SIKAP MASYARAKAT TERHADAP KEBIJAKAN KAWASAN TANPA ROKOK DI KOTA YOGYAKARTA
Abstract
More than 60 million Indonesians are addicted to cigarettes and around 400 thousand people die every year due to smoking. Yogyakarta is the city with the highest number of smokers who ranks 4th in Indonesia. Yogyakarta has established Regional Regulation No. 2 of 2017 concerning non-smoking areas which will be effective on March 20, 2018. This study aims to describe the public attitude towards the policy of non-smoking areas in the city of Yogyakarta. The research method used is a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The subjects of the study included active and passive smokers, and ten managers of seven KTR areas. Taking samples with snowball sampling. Collecting data with in-depth interviews and observations. The results of the study show that the attitude of the community towards regional policies without smoking is agree and strongly agree, this is supported by health reasons, financial factors, comfort of the respondents.
