PENGARUH PERILAKU PERSONAL HYGIENE TERHADAP ANGKA KUMAN TANGAN PETUGAS INSTALASI GIZI DI RS PKU MUHAMMADIYAH GAMPING
Abstract
Background: Nutritional installation in hospital is a part of supporting facility for convalescence of patients. Sanitation of food management or personal hygiene is a procedure to maintain the cleanliness and an attempt to maintain food safety and healthiness. In 2002 reported 5 to 6 cases of nasocomial infection for every 100 visits to hospital. One of the causes came from food poisoning in hospital resulted by bad personal hygiene behaviour of the nutritional installation staff.
Aim: To get to know the effect of personal hygiene behaviour towards index of hand bacteria of nutritional installation staff at RS PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping.
Method: This research is a quantitative research with analytical observational method with cross sectional design on 13 staff of Nutritional Installation of RS PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping. The collection of data using check list and a laboratory test to test index of hand bacteria. The analysis of data using chisquare test to identify the effects between variables.
Result: The level of personal hygiene behavior of the nutritional installation staff of RS PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping is 53.85% in the moderate category and 46.15% in the good category. Index of hand bacteria in nutritional installation staff of RS PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping are 61.54% have a bad index of hand bacteria and 38.46% of nutritional installation staff are accounted as good index of hand bacteria. The highest index of bacteria is 3000 CFU/cm2 and the lowest index of bacteria is 50 CFU/cm2. Personal hygiene behaviour does not affect index of hand bacteria (p>0.05).
Conclusion: The level of personal hygiene behavior of the nutritional installation staff in the moderate category. Index of hand bacteria in nutritional installation staffin the bad category. There is no significant association statistically between personal hygiene behaviour with index of hand bacteria in nutritional installation staff of RS PKU Muhhamadyah Gamping.
