NILAI-NILAI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER DALAM KIDUNG SUKMA BHAGAVAD GITA DAN TA‘ LĪMUL MUTA‘ ALLIM SERTA RELEVANSINYA DENGAN PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM
Abstract
This research aims at finding out the values of character building in Kidung Sukma of Bhagavad Gita and Ta'limul Muta’allim and at revealing their relevance with the values of character building contained in Kidung Sukma of Bhagavad Gita and Ta'limul Muta’allim reviewed from Islamic education perspective.
This research was qualitative in nature, i.e. library research with philosophical approach. The material objects of the literature review were primary sources of Kidung Sukma of Bhagavad Gita and Ta'limul Muta’allim and secondary sources of character building books, and the books that supported the research. The data collection of the research used documentary technique, i.e. data collection from documents. This research used content analysis that included reading and observing the data, analyzing the data, and interpreting the data with theoretical framework.
The results of the research show that: 1) The values of character building in Ta'limul Muta’allim and Kidung Sukma of Bhagavad Gita are divided into some points, i.e. in Kidung Sukma of Bhagavad Gita, the character building is delivered through honesty aspect, concern value, and creative value. Meanwhile, in Ta'limul Muta’allim, the character building is delivered through the values of honesty, concern, creativity, and healthy and clean values. 2) The relevance of the character building values contained in Ta'limul Muta’allim and Kidung Sukma of Bhagavad Gita has identical relevance, i.e. character building and Islamic education are two of a kind. The values of the character building contained in Ta'limul Muta’allim and Kidung Sukma of Bhagavad Gita really fit if implemented in the world of formal education in Indonesia because they would make noble character of the nation
