The research aimed at studying the low awareness of the community of Desa Ciasem Hilir toward education and ways to improve it. The type of the research is fieldwork-based qualitative. The data are collected through observation, direct interview, and documentation. The data are analysed using Miles Huberman analysis method. The research result indicates that there are four factors which cause the low awareness of Desa Ciasem Hilir community toward education, namely economy, culture, environment, and mindset. The role of Human Resources, both of individuals and the government are very important to improve the education awareness of Desa Ciasem Hilir community. Therefore, the duty of the local government to develop the community character which is aware of the importance of knowledge is by holding intensive socialization both through direct approach to community and through formal education institution in order to introduce the importance of education to the community.
