PEMBUATAN DAN KARAKTERISASI KOMPOSIT HYBRID UNTUK SPAKBOR DEPAN SUZUKI NEX DENGAN METODE HAND LAY UP
Abstract
This research was conducted to determine the characteristics of making Suzuki Nex
Front Fender. In making the fender, the Hand Lay Up Method is used and by
combining three types used to reinforced materials, namely hemp fiber ( natural ),
coconut coir fiber ( natural ), and fiberglass fiber ( synthesis ) or and namely is
hybrid composites. Hybrid composite testing carried out in the form of tensile
strength test and impact strength test. The process of making hybrid fender products
with the Hand Lay Up method is a variation of random fiberglass fiber in the first
layer, woven hemp fibers as the second layer, and random coconut coir fibers as the
last layer. The results of the tensile strength with the highest average that is SFSR-
SK variation of 47.67 MPa and the lowest average tensile streght that is SR-SFSK
variation of 35.59 MPa. The impact strength of the highest average results, that
is SR-SF-SK variation of 0.0141 J/mm2, and the lowest impact strength of the
average result, namely the SF-SR-SK variation of 0.01226 J/mm2.
