ANALISIS KINERJA MESIN PLASTIC MELTER DENGAN MOTOR LISTRIK BERVARIABLE SPEED SEBAGAI PENGGERAK ADUKAN
Abstract
The increase in plastic waste in Indonesia which reached 28.4 thousand tons of
plastic waste / day became a polemic that must be resolved immediately. In overcoming
this problem, a tool is needed to process plastic waste into more valuable products. Then
a plastic melter machine was created to overcome this problem. The purpose of this study
is to analyze the performance of a plastic melter machine. The research method used is 2
variations of the pulley, the test material in the form of plastic bottle waste (PET), engine
performance, engine working capacity and engine temperature. data collection for engine
performance includes measurement of the rotational speed of each variable pulley,
electric motor power, torque of each pulley variable, and mechanical power from the
engine. Retrieval of furnace temperature data using an infrared thermometer. The results
of testing the plastic melter machine in melting 5 kg of plastic bottle waste with the
temperature of the engine heat source 200oC to 330oC and the working capacity of the
machine 14,08 kg / hour. Maximum engine performance using variable pulley I with an
output speed of 278.4 rpm produces torque and mechanical power of 3.3 Nm and 96 Watt.
The cost of using electricity for the machine in one hour of work is Rp. 183.00. From this
research it can be concluded that this plastic melter machine only requires a relatively
small amount of electricity usage costs, but is able to produce a paving block product that
is worth selling.
