KEBIJAKAN PRESIDEN PARAGUAY MENGEMBALIKAN POSISI KEDUTAAN BESARNYA DI ISRAEL DARI JERUSALEM KE TEL AVIV (2017-2018)
Abstract
This thesis will explain why Paraguay's President, Mario Abdo Benitez, moved his embassy in Israel from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv. This decision contradicts the decision of the previous Paraguayan president, Horacio Cartes, who moved his embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem following the United States' decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
In analyzing the policy of moving the location of the Paraguay embassy in Israel from the city of Jerusalem to the city of Tel Aviv, the author uses the decisionmaking theory. This theory explains how a country's process of making foreign policy.
This thesis uses sources that are literature in the form of written data and digital data. Sources of written data come from literature, journals and newspapers. While digital data sources come from online journals, news and articles that are valid and can be accounted for. The author also uses qualitative data analysis methods, where data is taken in the form of explanation.
Less than four months after Paraguay officially opened a new embassy in Jerusalem, Paraguay decided on September 5th, 2018 to return the location of the embassy to its original location in the city of Tel Aviv. Paraguayan President Mario Abdo Benitez took the decision to move the Paraguay embassy in Israel from the city of Jerusalem back to the city of Tel Aviv on the grounds of achieving Peace and justice in the Middle East region.
It is hoped that this research can inform readers of the reasons why the President of Paraguay, Mario Abdo Benitez, issued a policy regarding the return of embassies in Israel from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv.
