      Abstract
      This research aims at providing description on ceriping (chips) sale and purchase practice and the conformity between the theory and the practice as well as describing the understanding about ceriping sale and purchase to both the seller and buyer. The research used qualitative method with primary and secondary data. The data collecting methods were interview, observation, documentation, literature study. The analysis method used in this research was field analysis method. The research result illustrates the way Sedayu Villagers in practicing ceriping sale and purchase. The practice is forbidden according to Islamic Law since there is defect in the seller’s statement. The seller states that the ceriping weighs a certain kilogram, but when it’s checked, the ceriping does not weigh the same as it was stated. Therefore, it defects the selling contract and causes the selling practice forbidden according to Islamic Law.
