Abstract. In a road construction, there are several stages that need to be performed. One of them is road pavement stage. The pavement comprises several layers: surface layer, foundation layer, and sub-grade layer. The foundation layer contains sub-base and base. To measure structural power on a surface layer a tool called LWD (Light Weight Deflectometer) and DCP (Dynamic Cone Penetrometer) can be used. In this Methods, using LWD does not break the NDT (Non-Destructive Test). LWD consist of falling load, loading plate, and geophone sensor. Deflection value generated from LWD can be used to generate elastic modulus using Boussinesq formula. The elastic modulus is one of the layer structure strength parameters. This study conducted on the road structure of the class B sub base course in the area Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta University. In testing the LWD and DCP devices 16 test points were taken, 5 data samples were taken at each point. DCPI Value will be generated from DCP Testing, DCPI value can be used to generate CBR (%) value. The purpose of using DCP and LWD in the test is to see the correlation of the elastic modulus results of these two devices. The Results of LWD correlation elastic modulus and DCP correlation elastic modulus are quite robust. So these two tools can be used for structural strength checks on dirt or subgrade roads.en_US
