Background: Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by mycobacterium tuberculosis or TB germs, some of these bacteria attacks the lungs, but can also attack other organs. A long period of treatment causes some patients to stop treatment due to lack of knowledge about treatment. Educational media through the Tetun language booklet is an interesting design because in the booklet it contains sentences and images that are easy to understand and use the local language that is Tetun, so that it can motivate patients to read in order to increase knowledge and change attitudes in maintaining health and improve the quality of life. Research purposes: analyze the effectiveness of TB education through the Tetun language booklet on family knowledge and attitudes in preventing TB transmission. Research Methods : The study used a one group pre-post test design. Independent Variable: Booklet education in Tetum. Dependent Variable: Knowledge, Family attitudes in Preventing Transmission TB. Sample: 63 people. Sample technique: Purposive sampling. Research Instrument : Questionnaire. Data analysis: Wilcoxon Signed statistical Test. Research Result: Family knowledge increased before being given a booklet at the level of good family knowledge with a score of 92,% to 100 % after being given a booklet. Family attitudes also increased before being given a booklet at a sufficient level of family attitudes with a score 69,8% to 72,6% after being given a booklet. Wilcoxon signed test showed a significant increase in knowledge and family attitudes in preventing pulmonary TB transmission. Conclusion: TB education through the tetum language booklet is effective to increasing knowledge and family attitudes in preventing TB transmission.
