GAMBARAN PENGETAHUAN DAN PENANGANAN LUKA BAKAR DERAJAT 1 DAN 2 PADA IBU RUMAH TANGGA DUSUN KALIRANDU
Abstract
Background: Burns are trauma that occur in part or all of the body caused by exposure to hot objects that occur suddenly. Burns are divided into four levels, namely grade 1 burns, grade 2 burns, grade 3 burns, and grade 4 burns. Burns can come from various sources, including fire, hot steam, solids, chemicals, electricity, radiation. Based on several studies explaining the phenomena in the community there are still many who handle burns using toothpaste, ice water, butter, cooking oil, and other household ingredients. Handling of inappropriate burns can have harmful effects on the body such as shock, infection, fluid imbalance, disability, and even death.
Research Objective: To describe the knowledge and treatment of first and second degree burns among housewives at Kalirandu hamlet.
Research Method: Quantitative descriptive analytic with crossectional design. The subjects of this study were 98 housewives from the village of Kalirandu. Data collection techniques were carried out by ordinal scale questionnaire. The analysis technique used is univariate.
Results: The results of this study indicate that most respondents have an age range of 26-35 years or adulthood. The history of the incidence of burns in the family is most often experienced by the mother, and is caused by contact with solid objects. The treatment carried out by the majority uses toothpaste. The description of the majority of knowledge is sufficient and the source of information is mostly from friends.
Conclusion: Knowledge of housewives on the handling of first and second degree burns is included in the sufficient category.
