HUBUNGAN ANTARA BENTUK KEPALA DAN BENTUK WAJAH PADA MAHASISWA KEDOKTERAN GIGI UNIVERSITAS MUHAMMADIYAH YOGYAKARTA ANGKATAN 2015
Abstract
Head and facial index measurements are extra oral clinical examinations carried out before establishing a diagnosis and treatment plan. There are many factors that influence the head and face shape such as process of evolution, genetics, environment, nutrition, and race. From the results of the head shape examination the operator can easily determine the patient's face shape. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between head and face shape among Javanese dental student class of 2015, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta.
The design of this study was observational analytic using a cross sectional approach. The population were Javanese dental student class of 2015, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, who were over 20 years old. Total of subject are 41 people, chosen by the total sampling method. The results showed that the dominant head shape was brachycephaly (63.4%). The dominant face shape was leptoprosopic (73.2%).
This study was analyzed by Gamma correlation test and the calculation results obtained p-value 0,163 > 0,05, which means there is no significant relationship between the shape of the head and face shape among Javanese dental student class of 2015, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta.
