MANAJEMEN EVENT JOGJA HALAL FESTIVAL 2018 UNTUK MEMPERKENALKAN YOGYAKARTA SEBAGAI KOTA WISATA HALAL
Abstract
The implementation of the Jogja Halal Festival 2018 is the first nationallevel
event in Yogyakarta by raising the issue of halal organized by the DIY Syariah
Economic Community. In carrying out the 2018 Jogja Halal Festival event, MES DIY
collaborated with SYakaa event organizer in managing the 2018 Jogja Halal Festival
event management. The purpose of this study was to describe how event management
was carried out to introduce Yogyakarta as a Halal Tourism City.
The research method used is descriptive qualitative data collection
techniques through interviews or in-depth interviews, document studies,
documentation, and other supporting data. There are three aspects that become the
researchers' research references, namely the concept of event management, event
promotion, and halal tourism branding conducted by MES DIY and SYakaa event
organizers.
The results of this study state that the 2018 Jogja Halal Festival event is a
form of organizational event that is, an event that has the purpose of an organization
is then packaged into a large event and can increase company revenue. The
management of the Jogja Halal Festival 2018 is implemented through several stages,
namely, planning, coordinating, staffing and motivating, and evaluating. The event
management stages resulted in the 2018 Jogja Halal Festival being unable to
introduce Yogyakarta as a Halal Tourism City due to the lack of participation from
certain parties such as the DIY Tourism Agency and the region and was not designed
to introduce halal tourism in DIY specifically.
