PERBEDAAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN KESEHATAN GIGI DAN MULUT ANTARA PEMBERIAN PENYULUHAN DENGAN METODE VIDEO ANIMASI DAN KOMIK PADA ANAK TUNA RUNGU USIA 10-16 TAHUN
Abstract
Children with hearing impairment encounter in the speech and language
caused by hearing disorders, so they have delays and difficulties in matters
related to communications. Children with hearing impairment can use the sense
of sight as the main key in the communications. Functionally they have difficulty
in understanding of language, that means their level intelligences are below the
normal children. The purpose of this study was to determine the comparation
between education by video animation method and comic method to improve oral
health knowledge in children with hearing loss in SLB N 1 Bantul. This study
used Quasy Experimental research design with Non-Randomized Control Group
Pre-Test and Post-Test study design. Total Sampling technique used to obtained a
subject of 14 children with hearing loss 10-16 years old. The primary data was
obtain directly from the questionnaire as a pre-test and post-test in the education
subject. The results showed that the p-value of Man-Whitney statistical test was
0,474 (p> 0,05), indicating there was no significant difference between the two
groups. The results of the study was not in accordancing with the hypothesis,
which is there was no difference of improvement of oral health knowledge in
children with hearing loss 10-16 years old whose received education by the video
animation method and the comic method.
