GAMBARAN KECEMASAN PADA KORBAN BULLYING VERBAL DAN FISIK PADA REMAJA SMA NEGERI 1 KASIHAN DI YOGYAKARTA
Abstract
Background: Adolescence can be considered as a critical period of transition from
childhood to adulthood with various physical and mental growth traits and
developmental responsibilities. These traits can result in life difficulties for adolescents,
namely anxiety and low self-esteem. This phase of life can be interpreted as a situation of
fear or worry resulting to very potentially threatening life situations and self-harm.
Further, this phase can be traced to bullying and intimidation behavior of teenagers by
other teenagers, both verbally and physically leading to anxiety.
Research Objective: The purpose of this study was to describe the anxiety of victims of
verbal and physical bullying in low socio-economic 1 Public High School adolescents
Reseach Method: This research methods used is descriptive quantitative. The subjects of
this study were 92 1 senior high school students from low socio-economic background.
The data collection technique used purposive sampling with a bullying questionnaire and
a Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (ZSAS) questionnaire.
Results: The results found that the picture of anxiety in victims of verbal and physical
bullying was in the normal category (51.1%) and mild category (15.2%) and moderate
(5.4%).
Conclusion: The description of anxiety in victims of verbal and physical bullying is
dominated by females age 16 years
