A research was “Green Open Space Evaluation in Wates Subdistrict Kulonprogo Regency (Case Studies of Urban Park and Green Line)”. It aims to describe the condition of Green Open Space of Urban Park and Green Line, also to evaluate in order to accordance with its function as the support of ecological, social-cultural, and aesthetic qualities based on Wates Subdistrict typology. This research is conducted with survey method which is implemented by doing the observation and interview. Questionnaires and cell-phone camera are the instrument and equipments which are used in doing the survey. The Green Open Space of Urban Park and Green Line in Wates Subdistrict has different characteristic. Alun-alun Wates as an urban park has large amount of vegetation, but it still lack of maintenance. Jalan Wakapan, Jalan Sugiman, and Jalan Jogoyudan as green line objects has its own feature, too. Jalan Wakapan and Jalan Jogoyudan, which is has a feature as an economic center (Wakapan) and as a residential area (Jogoyudan), has measly amount of vegetation and different than Jalan Sugiman. However, the evaluation result shows that plants in each research location are need to be rearranged. The rearrangement of lanscape design at each location can be done by replacing or adding the plant with tree species, vines, shrubs and ground covers. Afterwards, the research locations will be appropriate with the green space fuction.
