Abstract
Academic procrastination has consequences that include removing courses, delaying the acquisition of academic degrees, in addition to physical or psychological harm. The psychological aspect of procrastination is the gap between desire and behavior (intention-action gap). Procrastinators often lie and are synonymous with "lazy" disease which is a time predator, which according to lazy Islam is defined as "Al-kasal" which is defined as neglecting things that should not be forgotten. This study aims to prove and analyze the influence of social support and resilience on student academic procrastination before and after being mediated by religious character on students at the Raden Fatah State Islamic University in Palembang.
This study uses an analysis of Structural Equation Model (SEM) on student academic procrastination which is influenced by social support and resilience mediated by religious characters. The population in this study was 10,271 students from 9 faculties thus the total number of samples from the study population was 797 students using the Slovin formula. The analysis of this research model was carried out using a two step approach, namely the analysis of the measurement model, and the analysis of the structural model to analyze the relationship between all latent variables in the research model.
The conclusions obtained through this study are 1) there is a positive influence of social support for academic procrastination. This shows that the higher the social support, the higher the academic procrastination, 2) there is no significant effect of resilience on academic procrastination, 3) there is a significant influence of social support on the level of academic procrastination after mediated by religious characters. The findings explained that the indirect influence of social support was able to reduce the level of academic procrastination after mediated religious character, 4) the findings explained that the indirect influence of academic resilience was able to reduce academic procrastination after mediated religious character
