POLA KOMUNIKASI KOMUNITAS MUAY THAI DI YOGYAKARTA (STUDI DESKRIPTIF KUALITATIF PADA KOMUNITAS RAMBO MUAY THAI YOGYAKARTA)
Abstract
A martial arts community is a community that is popular with people
because humans always have the instinct to protect themselves. Muay Thai selfdefense is a martial art for all people, both men and women, which is quite simple
and can be done anywhere from different backgrounds, of course making a
different communication pattern but still having the same goal, this is what makes
researchers interested in see communication patterns that occur in the Muay Thai
community in Yogyakarta.
The research method used in this research is qualitative method. The
location of this research was carried out at the Rambo Muay Thai Yogyakarta
Community and aims to describe the communication patterns that exist in the
Rambo Muay Thai Yogyakarta community. Data collection techniques carried out
were in-depth interviews and participant observation. Descriptive studies studied
focused on communication between trainers and members of the Rambo Muay
Thai Yogyakarta community.
The result of research The pattern of Rambo Muay Thai community
communication has two types of communication, namely group communication
and interpersonal communication. Almost all processes that occur non-formal.
Internal communication between coaches and community members is done
through direct communication, face to face, such as during training, learning,
routine meetings and gatherings, while in the external communication process
only group communication. Formal and direct communication (face to face) only
occurs during event activities in a particular event that is directly related to the
community. In addition to these activities, both internal and external
communications from the Rambo Muay Thai community also communicate
through social media such as WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
groups.
