Konseling Islam Untuk Meningkatkan Kematangan Emosi Bagi Pasangan Nikah Usia Dini Di Kecamatan Pakis Kabupaten Magelang
Abstract
Early marriage is a marriage conducted by someone under 18 years old. The age is categorized as a child or early teenager regarded as not having enough emotional maturity already to have household life. This research aims at finding out the description of the problems in a household and the emotional maturity of early age marriage couple and finding out the influence of Islamic Counseling to increase the emotional maturity of early age marriage couple. This research used mixed- methods with experimental research type of pre-test post-test single group. The researcher distributed the questionnaire on Emotional Maturity Scale to the experiment group before and after being given with Islamic Counseling. The subjects of the research were the early age marriage couples (husbands or wives who were under 8 years old when getting married) who got married in 2016 in KUA of Pakis District of Magelang Regency. The quantitative data analysis used non-parametric data analysis and hypothesis testing used Wilcoxon test. Meanwhile, the qualitative analysis used observation and in-depth interview. The result of the research shows that (1) the problems emerged in the early age marriage are economy, social such as conflicts with parents/parents-in-law, adaptation with neighborhood, and domestic violence. (2) the problems emerged are the effects of the low Emotional Maturity, such as less responsibility, not being able to control emotion and to think rationally when having problems, and still not being able to accept their couples as they are. (3) Based on the result of the analysis using Wilcoxon test, it shows that Z= -2.261, while the significance is 0.009 showing that the significance level is lower than the mistake level (p= 0.009, p<0.05). It shows that there is an influence of Islamic Counseling given to increase Emotional Maturity for the early marriage couples (4) the success of Islamic Counseling is supported by interesting material, method, and media, good competency of the counselor, and the role of the society helping the counseling activity. Meanwhile, the obstacle factors are the poor motivation and the inability to focus on the given material of the participants.
