      Abstract
      Rasululloh SAW set masjid as the center of Islamic civilization. But nowadays, masjid is only used as the worship place, so masjid cannot give comprehensive influence. It is caused of poor management of masjid and incapable masjid keeper. Good management leads to broad functions and advantages that able to set Masjid as the center of Islamic civilization. The research used descriptive qualitative approach supported by participatory approach as the reinforcement. As the result, Masjid Syuhada and Masjid Jogokaryan able to create good management, and both masjid able to perform the advantages and the functions of masjid as the center of Islamic civilization. One of the outcomes of both masjid was civil economic empowerment that able to create modern moslem civilization. With a good masjid potential management both masjid created place for civil economic empowerment that could give the solution and could solve the problems to build Islamic civilization. at least, masjids should have Baitul Maal and Lazis in managing financial resources and function as Islamic civil economic empowerment
