National health insurance (JKN) that started on 1st of January 2014 is a challenge for dentist to give better dental health services and cost effectiveness. The aim of this study is to overview the obstacles of dentist as provider to provide dental health services in era of JKN at public health center (Puskesmas) in Bantul district. Methods : Research method of this study was observational descriptive with cross-sectional. The research subjects were all dentist who work at public health center in Bantul district by using total sampling technique. This research performed at public health center in Bantul district on August until September 2015. Instruments of this study were questionnaire of perception and questionnaire of knowledge. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistic method with frequency and mean distribution. Result : Result showed that dentist’s obstacle in capitation (77%), workload (60%), benefit package (17%) and dental health facilities (11%). Result of dentist’s knowledge about JKN found that respondent had good knowledge (89%), moderate (11%) and there was no respondent had bad knowledge. Conclusion : It can be concluded that capitation and workload are obstacles for dentist to provide dental health services in era national health insurance (JKN) at public health center in Bantul district. Capitation has highest score as an obstacle. The dentist’s knowledge about JKN is mostly good.
