HUBUNGAN STATUS GIZI DENGAN SIKLUS MENSTRUASI PADA REMAJA PUTRI DI SMP N 2 GAMPING
Abstract
Today, many adolescent are experiencing the menstrual cycle irregularity. The menstrual cycle at teenagers today many are experiencing irregularity. Menstrual cycle disorders will affect adolescents, due to disruption of the menstrual cycle in the physiological markers of pregnancy, endocrine disorders, cycle abnormalities, and nutrition status. Adolescents who have good nutrition status can be seen from the body weight. The body weight loss also affects the balance of hormones and the menstrual cycle. Adolescents who experience excessive weight gain will occur estrogen metabolism disorders such as increased production of estrogen in female, causing irregular menstrual cycles, whereas in case of an acute weight loss will cause interference with the function of the ovaries, causing disruption of the menstrual cycle is amenorrhea.
Objective: To determine the correlation of nutrition status and the menstrual cycle in SMP N 2 Gamping.
Methods: This research was a quantitative correlational research. The sampling technique used stratified random sampling, with sample number 136 girls, aged 12-15 years who had given menstrual periods three months earlier, while the instrument research used measurements of weight and height. The Analysis of the data in this study used Chi-Square with p = <0.05.
Results: The results showed that the mean of adolescent girl's nutrition status was normal and the mean of menstrual cycle was irregular. The result of statistical analysis showed p value = 0,075. Average normal nutrition status of adolescent girls and young female menstrual cycle on the average irregularity. With the results of the statistical analysis was p = 0.075 (α = 0,05).
Conclusion: There was no correlation between the nutrition status and the menstrual cycle on adolescent girls at SMP N 2 Gamping
