MOTIF MENGGUNAKAN INSTAGRAM PADA MAHASISWA UMY
Abstract
Instagram users comes from all social class and so are the students of Muhammadiyah Univeristy of Yogyakarta which classified as young adult and also active audiences. This become an interest thing for researcher to research the motive of the users of instagram why they choose instagram as one of the media they use as one of their media social.
This is a research using quantitative descriptive design and using interview, observation and questionnaire as the sources. This research using convenience sampling (accidental sampling) and the students of Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta become the object of this research. The analys data using descriptive analysis combine with SPSS 19 and 22, meanwhile for validity and reliabity test using Pearson Product Moment and Alpha Cronbach formula.
This research shows that there are motives that affect students of Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta in using instagram but are in the moderate category. The most motive that affect students of Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta in using instagram is motive of entertainment, and the least motive is motive for getting information.
Factor that cause motives which affect Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta students in using instagram only in moderate category is no other than the fact that Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta students are active audiences of media which using media to statisfy their needs and thinks that instagram has not fulfill their needs.
