Abstract
Aluminium is a lightweight metal that has properties of corrosion
resistance and has a good flow so vast applications in household appliances,
automotive and industry today. Aluminium alloys in this study using a mixture of
aluminum profiles and former piston. Piston ex used to get high enough Si
element on the piston. The addition of TiB element (Titanium-Boron) of 0.02%
and a treatment pressure of 10 kg at the time of casting is expected to improve the
mechanical properties and physical so hopefully Aluminium, Aluminium alloys
has a strength that is much better than without any treatment. Aluminium alloy
will be cast on two types of variations in temperature of the mold so that the heat
treatment of the molds (dies), namely 200ºC and 300ºC, is expected to improve
the brittle nature of existing on aluminum.
Tests were done to determine the mechanical properties of the aluminum
alloy namely tensile test (Tensile Strngth), and the composition of the material.
Results from the two (2) testing is expected to be analyzed as the conclusions of
this study. The results of the average value of a tensile test on this study was to
Raw Material with an average value of 2.33%, Ti-B 200ºC with an average value
of 2.36% and Ti-B 300ºC with an average value of 2, 33%.
