Abstract
Background: Sexual orientation is a description of one's attraction to another person in sexual terms both to different sex (heterosexual) as well as to same-sex (homosexual), a group of people falling into same-sex relationships into a group of people known as Lesbians, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender. Currently LGBT has become a massive movement after the United States Supreme Court endorsed same-sex marriage in June 2015. Individual health quality LGBT can be said to be bad because of the stigma that appears. This makes LGBT individuals more difficult to obtain health services, resulting in aberrant behavior such as drug abuse and alcohol intake, and increased risk of HIV. Based on the study, one's perception of LGBT can be influenced by educational and social interaction factors in school, and when the phase of perception change occurs, there will be a view that LGBT is normal. Given that adolescents have an open attitude toward change, it shows a high level of urgency to find out how far adolescent perceptions and what factors influence them.
Methods: Using descriptive qualitative explorative designs, mangambil data by collaborating with participants in order to obtain holistic results and support the final interpretation of existing data, one method is to conduct in-depth interviews one by one. Participants will be interviewed privately (one participant-one researcher) by first providing informed consent to the respondent in writing and the question used during the interview is an open question. The researcher's notes contain the flow of talk that has been carried out to avoid spinning conversations. The researcher will note things that are based on his considerations are important pertinent answers to the questionnaire. During the interview, the researchers recorded the conversation using a voice recorder.
Results: Obtained 31 codes, 11 categories, and 6 themes, with perceptual images that are incapable of understanding their own religion, varying perspectives, internal impulse, passively influenced, ostracized, and can return to normal.
Conclusion: Based on the results and discussion that I made, got the perception of adolescent to LGBT phenomenon is as follows:
1. Individuals who have an LGBT identity are incapable of understanding their own religion, thus having an interest in same-sex.
2. Everyone has a varied perspective in viewing LGBT behavior, with a tendency to deign or contradictory to it.
3. An individual who becomes LGBT because of his inner encouragement is accompanied by factors that reinforce the impulse.
4. An individual who becomes LGBT is due to passive influence beyond the pure desire / individual motives.
5. In traditional societies, LGBT behavior will be ostracized because it is not in accordance with the values in society.
