      Abstract
      Japanese language skill is one of the ten most useful foreign languages to learn. This research has a problem formulation to knowing how the application of audio lingual method for basic level of Japanese language learning to YAKETUNIS students and how they respond of that method. This research aims to knowing how the application of audio lingual method for basic level of Japanese language learning to YAKETUNIS students and how they respond of that method. This research used qualitative desctiptive methods. The sample of the research is 7 students YAKETUNIS Yogyakarta which are 16-30 years old. The instrument are observation guidelines and interviews. Data analytics technique in this study formed by daya reduction, presentation of data and verification. The result obtained in this study showed that audio lingual application method for basic level Japanese language learning in YAKETUNIS students was conducted in three stages. First stage is discussion material to be studied and or prior material. Second stage takes the form of the introduction of new vocabulary and new sentence pattern with same technique of approaching. Audio lingual application method along with their useful exercise. The third stage is a short review about all materials tha have been taught. The application of Audio Lingual method is conducive and active. Students can receive Japanese learning well. From observational and interview data, the effect of application of the lingual audio method helps them in learning Japanese and is beneficial for those who will continue in work as a visually impaired masseur.
