dc.description.abstractThe use of creative teaching method gives positive impact in teaching learning process. One of the impacts in using creative teaching method is it can make the class more interesting for the students. This research aimedat identifying (1) the use of creative teaching method in EED of UMY, (2) EED students’ interest in teaching learning process, and (3) the correlation between creative teaching method and students’ interest in teaching learning process at EED of UMY. To make this research more specific, the researcher focused in find out the use of creative teaching method and students’ interest in Material Design class. This research used descriptive quantitative and inferential statistic in order to find out the correlation between the variables. The data were collected from 61 students of EED of UMY batch 2014. The researcher created questionnaire as the instruments which consisted of two parts, the use of creative teaching method and students’ interest. The data analysis using Ms. Excel and SPSS 16.0 program indicated that creative teaching method was highly used in Material Design class which had the mean score 3.22 of 4. Moreover, students in Material design class had a high level of interest n teaching learning process because the mean score of students’ interest was 3.17which lies in “high” category. The data analysis also revealed that the significant number of the correlation was 0.009 which means that there is a significant correlation between creative teaching method and students’ interest in teaching learning process. The result also revealed that there is a positive and low correlation between creative teaching method and students’ interest in teaching learning process (r = 0.330). It means that if the use of creative teaching method increases, the students’ interest in teaching learning process will increase a little. Thus, Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected.en_US
