Thesis entitled "Development of Private Open Space Strategy as Community Empowerment Program in Bausasran Village, Yogyakarta City Year 2017" is the result of research aimed to develop green open space strategy that can empower the community in Bausasran Urban Village, Yogyakarta City. The reason for choosing Kelurahan Bausasran became the research location because Bausasran is a densely populated area. The results of this study are SWOT analysis, including Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat. City area in the city of Yogyakarta is equipped with layout, which is an open space that only appears as a garden. A lot of land is converted to either the land for housing, malls, hotels or apartments. The more vacant land that turns into a Building-planting the higher the existing green open land. To discuss these issues the Yogyakarta City Government issued a strategy by using public programs by issuing programs to create communities to enable them to preserve open space by using private land or using their own community land to manage collectively. With the provision of providing private green open space can be one of the encouraging alternatives to reduce inequality and how the strategies implemented in empowering the community.
