PENGARUH PSIKOEDUKASI TERHADAP TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN ORANG DENGAN SKIZOFRENIA DI KOMUNITAS
Abstract
Schizophrenia is a severe mental illness marked by presence of retardation or impairment of communication skills, reality disorder (hallucination or unreasonable suspicion), unreasonable affect, cognitive disorder (unable to do abstract thinking), and difficulty to do daily activities. Schizophrenia may develop into severe and chronic illness caused by lack of insight and knowledge of treatment. It rises the need of an effort to increase knowledge, one of ways to do it is by psychoeducation.
The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of psychoeducation toward knowledge level of schizophrenics in community. This study was done in community health facilities of Srandakan, Bantul; Tempel 1, Sleman; Temon 1, Kulon Progo; Playen 2, Gunung Kidul; Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. This study used quasy experiment and pre-test post-test with one group design. Sample obtained using purposive sampling technique. Number of total respondants is 30.
Data was acquired using questionnaire of Puspitosari (2016) and analyzed using paired sample t test with p<0.05. Results showed mean of knowledge level before and after intervention of psychoeducation module is 9.40 and 16.07 respectively. The result of paired sample t test analyisis showed p=0.000, which means psychoeducation module effects knowledge level of schizophrenics in community.
